Why Saint Michael?
- The fraternities were given names by their patron saint, and saint Michael was the patron of the Noble Market-town of Dubovac and the church beneath the walls of the old town was build in the 14th century in his honour.
- For those who don't know, saint Michael was the Archangel that fought against Lucifer and caused his fall from the havens into the hell. On the Judgment Day, he weights the sins of every man, so he is the protector of police and traders. That is probably the reason why he was chosen to look after the well-fare of Dubovac fair and people.
- Than, same as now days. We trust that he will give us the strength, and show the way in moments of doubt.
Why the organisation in the first place?
- after the first Nobility Fair we saw that all of the participants worked very well together as a team, and that we encourage each other to the grater participation in the project.
The positive atmosphere encouraged us to unite the human potential that carried out the first Fair, and to create a group of people that wants, can and knows how to organize something like that even the next year. We and our fellow citizens and dear guests are looking forward to it.
The organization was founded whit purpose of research, study, revival, teaching and presentation of old crafts, trades, skills and knowledge related to the local and national heritage.
Our goals are maybe described in the best way by the professor Igor Èulig, the organisation’s vice-president: "Our final goal is an educated citizen able to use his knowledge of the local heritage to benefit himself and the community he lives in."
