The St. Michael's Fraternity, aware of the fact that we are only temporary guests in the castle that will survive us all, wants to pay respect trough this and other programs to the persons that created and preserved these monuments to remain in our legacy.
The project, alongside with the Fair Day of Dubovac Parish want to take the visitor almost five centuries backwards, somewhere around the year 1550, in the golden age of the Noble Parish of Dubovac

The noble parish of Dubovac really existed, although the nobleman was going in wars only when he had no other choice. In fact, the adjective “plemenit” (=noble) in ancient Croatian means also “the one who respects the tribal rituals”. In that sense, the Dubovac community has its roots in Croatian tribe that had occupied the hill and preserved its tribal connections and rituals until the 17th century.

Besides, it is one of few European properties that paid its due to the feudal owner from the fair incomes (the one that took place beneath the walls of the Town), and not in obligatory work in the fields. Furthermore, it has its own judge that settles the arguments in customary (tribal) law, and it has a great autonomy. Interesting, isn’t it?

The St. Michael’s Fraternity will try to train seven persons to interpret historical characters, and twelve more persons will closely observe the educational process an be equipped to perform at the Nobility Fair of Dubovac.

The program will result in few short plays that show the life in those days
